Given the limitations of two-dimensional cell cultures, many researchers have transitioned to using three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures that more faithfully recapitulate in vivo physiology. It’s a big transition for your lab, and you likely have many questions, such as, “Where would I even grow my 3D cells?” Thankfully, there are now smart plates, like the Sphericalplate 5D plates, which make it easy to perform 3D cell culture and are available in standard dimensions compatible with preexisting equipment.
